Hi guys, im new to this however have a question regarding live rock seeding. I currently have some "dead rock" and will be getting some live rock to add to eventually make this rock live also. Firstly how long could this make? How much live rock would I need in proportion the dead rock? And how much light will this require approx daily? Any advise would be great :)
Hi Lee:
I'm new to this hobby too but I tell you the way I do:
First I started with dry Rock as well, then I get some premium LR and placed all around the dry rocks.
Also I keep a couple of very nice pieces and start scratch them over the dry rock to disperse the spores over the dry rock
Don't use any light, just the ambient light

I Rushing anything in this hobby normally leads to problems down the road.
I'll never said I was rushing on my cycling. I will do what it takes to do. Even if the ammonia reads '0' I'm not planning to add any livestock in my tank yet.
My only goal now is to populate the dry rocks with coraline algae; and the point of this thread is "How to seed dry rocks". And for that, yes I'm rushing for it, but it will takes a while until it gets to my satisfaction.
