Hello everyone,

I have a 55 gallon aquarium that has been up for about 5 months. I currently have a pair of clowns, a bangai cardinal, and a purple dottyback.

I am wondering if a blennie/goby and an anthias would be good choices for the last fish to add to the aquarium and if they would be fine with the dottyback.

Thanks in advance for input.

I think a flame angel of a flame hawk fish would be OK in that size of a tank. You would want something that is a little more on the semi-aggressive side rather than peaceful. I agree with marine. I have two Anthias in a 125G. Your tank would be way too small for them. They also benefit from being in groups.

If your clowns are a decent size and you don't have many inverts why not get a marine betta? The dottyback may be eaten eventually, but they are a beautiful fish! It will limit what you can do further down the line, but that's what I would do. Get the smallest one that you can find. Or what about an Engineer Goby?
