I found two of these this morning and they took off before I could snap a picture.. One was on the back glass, The other (smaller) was on one of the backs of a hermit crab (his shell).. They crawled back into / under the rock when the light went on.
They are clear to a frosted white, They glide like worms have a rounded head shape ans a split tail (see sketch below)... Any ID help would be greatly appreciated

sounds like you just added some new LR to a tank about 2 weeks ago. :D

those are flatworms. they are the good ones. those eat the bad ones. the problem is that they will die off when their food source disappears. which is a good thing because it means they cleaned you out of them. most people see them within 2-3 weeks of adding new LR. they are harmless.

Geoff, iyo, should anything be done about them, such as sucking them out during water changes, particularly when it looks like they have the bad ones under control? Or should they just be left alone?
