I will be getting the rock tomorrow, earlier then I expected. He collected yesterday, I’m filling a 44 gallon Rubbermaid right now, will add salt and keep rock in it until I’m ready for it. Also still working on my dry rock.

Last live rock I got some black urchins along with a bunch of clams, turkey cams I think they are called. And other tiny clams. Macro algae, all survived. I left the macro on the rock and would prune it.
I had to take the tank down when I got sick. It was in my shop which I also had to close, got sick and covid hit.

With all the new tank builds happening I lost my score card. But since rocks are being discussed here, here I will chat. 🤔
With the pending POSSIBILITY of me down sizing, and going with hard corals this winter, I was assuming I knew where my base rock supply was going to come from...the same place I got it 7 years ago. NOPE! Just checked, and ReefCleaners no longer list their boxes of rock. Hmmmmmm? I would like to start with dry rock, not man made, but quarried from ancient reef......I've lost track....who's carrying such stuff nowadays?

I love that porous old coral as opposed to the denser rocks folks sell.

I have a couple hundred pound of the stuff in my tank now.....BUT it's covered in corals. I'll be trading or selling all that off when the time comes, so there won't be any to 'cook'.

Looks like roughly $3.00 per pound, from BRS.....that's doable. Tried going directly to Marco Rocks site, and got a HUGE MESSAGE across the screen...GO BACK TO SAFETY! Bad juju ahead.

But thanks Vinnie, that takes me a direction to look.

Got two of them Jerry. One aimed at the back of the tank. But you never know. I have no idea how good this will be. Dan seems cool and want to keep people happy with his rock. I will be getting 2 40 boxes.

I have a photo of my tank when I was letting the macro grow. It gives the tank a different look from the coral dominated reef tanks. Both are beautiful in their own way.
I suppose you just put any macro you get in the seahorse tank. A good deal that way no waste.
