I read somewhere on another message board that hydroponic lighting is cheaper and works just as good as anything else you can buy on the market for reef tanks. Has anyone else heard this or had any experience?
i've also read that they are also a different spectrum. they are used for plants, which means they are in the lower spectrum of light ie: yellow, which is better for lights.
so you may be setting yourself up for a green tank.
i'm no light expert though, jsut my opnion, and relaying what i've read about them elsewhere.
