Hi i just have a few questions on what to do to add live sand to my exsiting 75 gallon tank!
>The tank is about 5 months old i have only about 25 pounds of LR
>There is about 10 hermits,5 snails, sand sifting star, 2 peppermint shrimps
a maroon clown, green polyps and a GBTA

>I only have about 50 pounds of fiji pink LS the level just comes up to the black bar at the bottom of the tank i know i need to add more
>i purchased 40 more pounds of CarbiSea live reef sand
>Should i rinse before adding?
>Combine existing sand with new sand OR lay on top???

Also i was considering adding about 30 more pounds of rock from a friends long time established tank
>Should i do this at the same time?:help:

All together im really concerned about cycleing all over again and scared to loose my maroon wich finally hosted to my GBTA!! :fish:

WHAT and HOW do i do this????

Sorry for all of the question any advice will do please please please and thankyou!!!!:agree:

Well, rinsing live sand makes no sence as you will be taking out anything that is living.....

so, why not add "dry" sand to the existing "live" sand and it will make it living...

to do this is by getting a long funnel.... Walmart, automotive store, long enough to reach

bottom of tank, dump sand in funnel, move funnel around to distribute it, and wahla...new layer of sand
