For months now I've been watching what appears to be some type of tube worm living inside my torch coral. It looks like a small white opening in the center, and has 1 (now 2?) long white spindly fan that it claws the water column with. What is it? Is it harmful?

Well it's kind of hard to tell with that picture but it kind of looks like some sort of feather duster...? I could be wrong though. It's hard to tell

I could see the shell of the bivalve... its definitely the barnicle

I would leave it. I have one on my hammer. Pretty neat to watch when the LPS retracts in the evening and the barnacle starts to feed.

Mine has not presented any issues. The hammer has just grown around it.

The barnacle will molt, so from time to time you will see its molt gloating around.
