We are fairly new nano tank owners. We purchased a black widow bubble tip anemone and after a week it's not looking good. We check the water everyday and our numbers are good. Here are our ai prime settings.

The mouth is not gaping so that is good.
did you decrease lighting to acclimate?
No we did not. Can you offer some suggestions on lighting? I just picked this selection off reddit and last week I was using a setting by a reef guy called Saxby. We are very new to this and would love all suggestions.

If you got it in s store set light level it approximates that.
If not some lights have a built in acclimation setting. It it doesn’t cut it by half and slowly raise it over time.

Anemone are rather delicate and very sensitive to water parameter changes as they are themselves mostly water.
stable water parameters are essential. This is one reason it is normally suggested to wait until a tank is a year old before adding them so that has gone through the normal changesand become more stable.

As Jerry said AI has a acclimation mode. Its under effects down on the bottom of the app.

Man thats a nice high end anemone hopefully it makes it. Maybe if you have someone with a older more stable tank that can hold onto it for you for a few months so your tank can stabilize some. Adding some high quality live rock with lots of life in it will help the water quality as well.

best of luck
Matt

Will it feed?
A piece of shrimp, clam, silver side or other raw unprocessed sea food the size of its mouth. Placed gently against it tentacles.

Yes we did that and it ate. We made a stupid mistake of feeding it a bite of boiled shrimp. It ate it though.

Remember that anemone only have one opening, waste comes out the same way food goes in.
