Ok, one last chance, i would like to get a couple of them and i was just making sure that they get along with everyone? My clowns, im not sure if theyd be ok with chromis, id like to add some color, my algea isnt going away, but i dont care about the algea, im just letting it grow itself, and let it die on its own, but anyway, if the green chromis are docile(how ever you spell it) would my clowns pick on them?

Cinnamon
Maroon
2 Percs

Thanks

i have 3 green chromis in my tank along with a cinnamon clown.

the chromis are very docile, and hyperactive swimmers and eaters. they dont mess with anyone else.

not sure which species of clown you have, but it's been my understanding that clown are more territorial/aggrssive towards otehr clowns.

i THINK the chromis should be fine. also, if you have a tank that will support it, it would be best to get three or more, as they are a schooling fish.

also, in regards to getting mroe, i've read that with any schooling fish, it's best not to get an even number. that way, they cant pair up or whatever, if there is an odd number (3,5,7, etc..) it's better because there is always one odd man out, so it's better for the social behavior.

oops, jsut noticed the rest of your post

the cinnamon should present no problems, i dont think the percs would either. not sure about the maroon, it might depends on how big it is already, and how aggressive it is to tank mates presently.

my maroon, is about 3.5 inch long(from tip of tail to head) and about 3 inch high? I was always looking for big clowns so they can withstand some of the bad things in my tank, so anyway, just wondering if they would get along

Thanks

I like the green chromis but I looked for a 'chromie alternative'. I found some bar gobies. Very cool looking fish and they school great. I have 8 of them in my 135 and get along great with all my fish. When they school it's awesome!! They never stray from the group. A couple of the gobies will flare their fins up, maybe trying to show who the leader of the pack is. They don't nip or even chase each other. Just thought I would throw that out there in case you want another choice. Alot of people have chromis and I just wanted something different. They are only about $10- each.

Just my $.02!

My chromis are very friendly, they come up to the top of the tank and folow me around when I am near the tank. Even when I am done feeding them. There colors are cool if you have the correct lighting also.
