went to the lfs and told him to go ahead with my 75 order for this weekend pickup.

pump puked on the pond. so it looks like i gotta get another (it was actually a swimming pool filter/pump, and apparantly cant handel the pond with all it's plants.)

watched anylyze that... :funy: :funny: every bit as good as the first one! got some crude language, which would be the typical mobster hollywood flick starring deniro anyway. but top notch movie, hilarious.

watched american idol. kimberly is gone. next week is the final week with ruben and clay. i'm really votin for caly. he's got that sound we havent heard in years. reminds me of barry manilow!

and now, i'm off to bed, gotta get up in 4 hours

oh, and tommorrow i have some MAJOR news for those that "know" me and may be interested.. it's been a year and half in the works, and tommorrow i make the announcement :) isnt the suspense intriguing lol

ok, good night trt. farewell, guten nacht, and all that stuff :)

Hmmmmmmm American Idol, I hate getting sucked into TV. I am sorry Kim got cut she was good, Ruben is talented but I think hes rather limited. Now Clay is a talented lad, and ya the Manilow resemblence is un nerving but I wonder if KD Lange noticed he stole her hair yet
FWIW I dont care for the faster version of Unchained Melody , but Clay owned the song last nite, Even Simon the **** couldnt bag too bad :D

Well, what the heck.

It was a good day - but who knows what might come of it. About a half hour ago, some of our neighbors wandered over with a pair of puppies that they'd found abandoned in a park. They are about 3 months old, cute (obviously - they're puppies), and somewhat calm. They appear to be chow/lab maybe, but are small enough to carry around and don't have huge paws to grow into.

Anyway,
We don't need another dog. We don't need another dog. We don't need another dog. We don't need another dog. We don't need another dog. We don't need another dog. We don't need another dog.

The female is black, with a white stripe down her chest like a border collie. Andy thought we could name her pickle. I really don't know if we can afford another big dog who has had no medical care (meaning, she'd need the whole battery of puppy shots, spaying, etc), and do the garden/shed thing.

At least he's not set on taking her in. I can't imagine how the cats would react...

So that's been my evening.

Better clarify this. I said it had to go with Nikolai, our other dog.

He replied

"pickle-i" :funny: I have no clue where that came from.

We don't need another dog.We don't need another dog.We don't need another dog.We don't need another dog.We don't need another dog.We don't need another dog.We don't need another dog.

Just keep saying that...

nothing more to say!

NO MORE AMERICAN IDOL, this was my escape from it. we actually have people driving around with VOTE FOR CLAY written all over their cars here! some people just take this to far. it is all i hear about at work on the radio everywhere. ahhhhhhhhh.

i have not seen it nor will i ever. i can not stand vocal fireworks. as i tell the people at work if someone on that show can sing Landslide from Stevie Nicks, or any other song that actually takes some musicianship to sing, then do not talk to me. vocal fireworks are for the easily impressed.

ok, sorry. i will stop now. coming from the area where Clay comes from, this american idol stuff is just ubiquitous.

so geoff, did you go see clay when he went home to raleigh over the weekend for his whirlwind home tour :funny:

he even threw the first pitch and sang the national anthem for the (Durham Bulls ?)

danielle: you do need anotherdog. you do need another dog. you do need another dog.
think abou all the horrible things that could happen to the poor little loveable buggable puppy :D

i agree doug, the top two should have been kim and clay. i do think ruben is limited. sadly, i have a feeling that ruben will win, because so many teens out there are going to treat this as a popularity contest. i really wish clay would win, simply because i feel he is more talented. but i guess it remains to be seen. out of 19 million votes, there is only 2% separating the two, so it'll be close!

cath you picked a perfect time to watch. next week it's on THREE times for the season finally. monday tuesday and the final show and winner announcment on wednesday. oh yeah for the last 3shows, they brought back all the top 10 contestants as well. for lots of montages and what not.

the news. oh yeah the news... i'll tell ya later in the morning :D

JAy I agree but what can I say, Kim was good covering Freda PAyne tho I never cared for that song, She SMOKED on the Dionne Warwick Tune. The Natalie Cole tune I am not familiar with so I withold.
Ruben is a good R and B singer, no doubt. My wife thinks he will win cause she still believes in groovy Karma and that Ruben, with his size issues will have a limited shot at success. R and B isn't my favorite style so again I withold
Clay on the other hand is too cutesy in a Barry M way, and being a big KD fan the hair really irks me, but the kid can sing, more than one style and has presence that eleavates him above a competent lounge singer. If he finds his niche I suspect he can do well.
These competitions, OK this one and The C&W version on CMT remind me of the olympic in that to get in the final groups is a real accomplishment, and put the competitors in a small club.
The thing I did like about the C&W show was that the contestants were also judged on there songwriting skills.
Had this been included in AI even if its pros translating contestants ideas into songs they perform, I think it would have made a better contest.

Bleah..... Clay needs to sit down... Rupert is the man... He's humble and would be a good role model... He's "real"...

It seems like stardom just sucks the humanity out of these people... Even my man Gracin... He's a Marine, and bless him for that, but I started losing respect when he started playing it to the crowd... I guess that's the meaning of Californication... turning into something fake.... :-/

EDIT: I really need a mistype checker....

Yeah.... but he's Gracin to me.... I outrank him... ;)

and I'm sure you do too.... :)

He IS a great country singer... but he got starstruck...

I respect Rupert though.... It seems like all the fame and stuff hasn't phased him one bit...

gracin was pathetic. yes he was good at singing sappy love songs to his wife, and that's about it. he'd be better off stickin to country.

hewas entirely too stiff to be a pop singer. had no ryhtym when dancing (but who am i to judge, i'm a wallflower :)) and i hated that stupid face he made whilst singing! he should have been gone long ago.

and yes, his cocky attitude was getting the best of him in the end. he tried to be mr rock star too soon.

how about this geoff. a guy on teh radio today called in with all the reasons why ruben would win and clay would lose.

the biggest of his reasons.. it was prophesized in the bible!!!

basically what he did was go to bible.com and do a search for clay.. and then listed those passages. "proving" that god intended for ruben to win..

here was his list:

Isaiah 41:25 - I have raised up one from the north, and he shall come: from the rising of the sun shall he call upon my name: and he shall come upon princes as upon morter, and as the potter treadeth clay.
he said this means that ruben is going to walk all over clay.

and

Daniel 2:35 - Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth.
hesaid this means that since iron is listed first, and clay is listed second, that ruben is symbolized as the iron, because he is stronger than clay. and iron is listed first, and clay is listed econd, therefor, ruben will win, and clay will be in second place. we went on to say that the "great mountain" is ruben because he is so big, and "will fill the whole earth" means that his voice will be heard around the world on his first album.

you know. some people have WAY too much time on their hands!!!

the radio asked him why he didnt have any passages that specifically said ruben in them. and he said "i didnt like what that search came up with!"

namely:
Genesis 35:22 - And it came to pass, when Israel dwelt in that land, that Reuben went and lay with Bilhah, his father's concubine: and Israel heard it. Now the sons of Jacob were twelve:
