Looking for good movies to rent. What are your favourites?

Just to get things started... I liked 'Dark City' and 'Independance Day'. Also, 'Casablanca' and the first 'Terminator'.

Lots of others but I'll stop now ;)

Count of Monte Cristo! Just saw that, excellent movie!

Frequency is great as well. It has Dennis Quade. Then there are the other movies people already suggested. :)

I think you would enjoy the Count of Monte Cristo. (The new one, not the old one) :)
Strange Brew.:D
Yellowbeard.;)

G~
Brooke,
We are on the same page with the classics.
To Have and Have Not
Key Largo
Casablanca
Treasure of the Sierra Madre
Can you tell I like Bogart :funny:
I also like any movie with Cary Grant, Audry Hepburn, or Jimmy Stewart. My Favorite actress was Grace Kelly  Probably the most beautiful actress ever.
As far as newer movies, I don't bother. The last movie I went to see was Backdraft (1996?). I may watch them if they are on cable. I see no point in car chases and blowing stuff up. I'll take the classics. Bob

Maureen O'Hara is a close second for most beautful actress! I love all the old movies with her and John Wayne. :)
Wow! I've seen some of these but I'll print off the thread and take the list to the video store. :)

Thanks ;)

For new movies... I just saw 'Pirates of the Caribbean' - fun movie.

i love war movies....especiall enemy at the gates, blackhawkdown..(most....descriptive movie i have ever seen) i got the band of brother dvd set if ya wanna borrow it lol....
clint as far as being descriptive.. i can tell you from a "been there done that" perspective.. hollywood finally got something right. that movie gave me bad dreams for a few months!

the only thing that upset me, was for creative license, they only depicted two blackhawks goign down, when in fact three went down. but the third was outside of town, closer to the airbase, so it wasn't essential for the movie.

but the mogodishu mile at the end.. i remember more than clearly!
I was kidding about 'Finding Nemo :D but you can pre-order it on amazon.com for $19.49 - it's being released in November ;)

"Jaws"... Gawd, scariest movie I've ever seen! and 'Aliens' comes a close second
