agree with reefneck. skilters try to do both skimming and filtering, get a skimmer, just a skimmer. there are some good models at moderate prices, the CSS is a good start. and dont think about good enough, think about best i can possibly do. this hobby doesnt like short cuts, and you really do get what you pay for!

I agree with Robert, I have gone down the path of trying to save money on skimmers and ended up paying twice as much b/c I eventually bought the good skimmer anyways

im just looking for something cheap i can put in there NOW that will do the job until my larger tank is up and running...hows this one look...or send whichever u think isthe best on the site

I have the Prizm on a 15 gallon frag tank and it works fine. I'm not sure if I'd try it on a 45 though
