Hello everyone !! I was thinking about just making my own fixture to hold the light bulbs i ordered online .. I have to many spare actual fixtures minus the lights but my issue it the follow .. i have 3 fixtures 2x 48" and 1x 30" and each can hold 2 lights .. but only 1 power source .. I have ZERO electrician skills :help::help: and im wondering if its possible to somehow add something where i can split the 2 light bulbs from each ficture and only use the one i need then flick a switch and use the other bulb .. I know its probably easier just to buy a actual hood or what not from a website of LFS but Im the type to build it if i have the materials before spending money haha .. ive tried googling this but came up with no such luck .. any tips or ideas would be much appreciated

So you want to control each bulb in the fixture separately? If this is what you want it may be possible but I need more information.

First, how many ballasts does the fixture have? If it has one for each bulb, then a simple rewire of the power cord would allow both bulbs to be controlled by its own plug. If it has one ballast for both bulbs it will be much more difficult and will probably require some electrical skill. This is because you will need to add electrical components to prevent the back flow of electricity.
