Flame Scallops don't live a very long time in tanks. They don't hurt anything, they are pretty much filter feeders.

They don't like light, so be prepared for them to go in a shadowy/dark place.

They are pretty cool, 'specially the electric flame scallops

As squid said, they really aren't good or bad - just really hard to keep. I don't know anyone who's been able to keep one for longer than about a month.

I honestly wouldn't recommend it, as it will be money down the drain. They are cool, though.

Flame scallops are another one of those critters that should be left to the wilds and not in our captive systems!

They seem to have a short life span in our tanks and don't know of many living over a year at best!:)

Ya that always has me wondering, why do the LFS have access to these sorts of creatures that don't live very long. There should be laws in place to prevent this.
