Some featherdusters reproduce by losing thier crown!

This is usually caused by a stressful condition such as bad water quality, maybe a salinity problem, nitrates, etc. It could also have been irritated by a fish, shrimp, etc. Check your water params. It should grow a new feather in about 2 weeks. You might even see the worm in the tube come to the top of the tube to confirm it is still alive.
