Hey everyone I have been a member of the forum since last august and I just figured it would be good to show you all my tank. I've had it up and running since the middle of August last year. I've had my ups and downs learning how to care for and set up my tank. I learned a lot here and I thank you all for the great information. I have some upgrades planned including a settling tank, getting a lot of detritus in the sump and its a pain to get out, and upgraded lights. I would like to get more serious about corals and start keeping more LPS.
Its a regular old 55 gallon tank with a home made 17ish gallon sump. I have a CPR hang on over flow with aqua lifter pump, ocean runner 650 gph return, reef octo nwb110 skimmer, JBJ auto top off, one Hydor 550 power head and my newest addition an mp40. For lighting I have a 4 bulb eBay special t5 unit that I'm hoping to replace with my DIY LED lights from Rapid LED. I also have an eBay special 50gpd ro/di unit i used for water changes and top off.
I keep mainly softies at this point aside from my candy cane coral and my fish are two ocellaris clowns, a royal gramma, a firefish, two blue reef chromis and a yellow watchman goby. My maintenance schedule is a 10 gallon water change every week, sometimes every week and a half. The night before i usually stir about half the substrate and blast off the rocks. The next day I swamp out the sump and suck up all the crud that's settled in there and re-fill with fresh salt water.
Here are some pics. Thanks for looking and any suggestions are definitely welcome!
