My 500g FOWLR aquarium (live rock, live sand, fake coral, CUC and all) is finally conditioned! I ordered an emperor angelfish juvenile, will be coming in a few weeks. While we wait, what fish would make some good tankmates? I know that they're peaceful w/dwarf angelfish but I'm good at keeping fish alive, not calculating their compatibility. Any suggestions?
Thanks,

Compatibility in a 500 gallon tank is a negligible issue. You can keep fish in there that might not do well otherwise due to the size of the tank. In my 210 I was able to keep pretty much anything I wanted to.

Because they aren't reef safe I've not kept angels so I am not sure of their compatibility with tangs. But in a tank that size you could really have a few nice tanks.

I heard that if the food particles are too small then the emperor will get them stuck in its gills rather than eating them and digesting them. Right now the flame angelfish and the emperor angelfish are bickering over an area of open space... Odd, since there's a lot of empty territory with plenty of swimming room.

Do you have lots of places for them to separate to? I would assume so...open space huh? Guess its time to decide the top dog
