ok when i rearranged my rock work last week and i was looking for my two emerald crabs that i had bought about two months ago, i couldnt find them and i was wondering what might have happened to them? before i cleaned it i hadnt seen them for three weeks.:worm::fish:

they are probably there and you just didnt see them. they can wedge themselves in some tight cracks in the rocks and you probably overlooked them. happens to me all the time

Yea....I see my emerald crab about once a week if that, I actually saw him this morning before I left for work while I was looking at the tank with a flash light. I never see mine when the lights are on in the tank.

Mine disappear for a month at a time.

I see my emerald crabs everyday always come out and pick at rocks

Same as above, mine are gone for months, I think they are dead, then all the sudden they show up.

ok thanks guys but is it bad to find a claw in the sand?

It can be from a molt, or a fight between crabs, they often loose a claw in combat, it grows back with the next molt.

It could mean a dead crab...but not always.
