I had a coral beauty for over 4 years in a 38g pygmy angel fish do my needs 70g? They only top out at 3.5" plenty big enuff for a 30 but the rest of that list I'd say no..
Dude.. not every kids learns by overstocking their tanks don't knownwhere you ever heard that nonsense... Why even by a fish you dont plan on keeping 20 years?.. yes those "baby" blue Tangs can live that long.. and it is folks such as yourself thinking "I fan buy these fish small and get rid of it when its too big," regardless of the added stress it puts on an already stressed fish. It's thinking like that that really irks and irritates folks in the hobby.. if you really want a blue tang, then set uo the right home for him or leave the thing in the store for someone that DOES have the proper home for it.. you dont buy a puppy and get rid of it a few months later when it gets too big.. why do with with a fish.. responsibility and knowledge is key when setting up a reef tanks not learning from overstocking.. advising others to make the same choices and decisions is just not responsible thinking... Sorry if thats hard for you too hear.. you are still young and learning sowell give you the lack of experience. Just know that there are many passionate and vocal folks on here that will disagree with that line of thinking and point it out every chance we can...dude chill, i said it was a mistake but a good learning experience. every kid thats ever done reef aquariums has overstocked their tank at some point and learned the hardway. so sorry that a BABY blue tang died, i did everything i could. and my tank is only 30 in long, why would i ever keep a tang til its 14 in long? i was going to sell it to the lfs for more than i paid for.
+1 Chad, very well put...Others have said "They are just fish" before and I always tell them the same thing when they get upset that people react badly to that comment. This is a FISH forum...we're here because we LOVE fish and because they are IMPORTANT to us. Don't be surprised when people get upset at the minimizing of something they love.
