Main tank is 65 gal 48” x 12”x 26” deep. Approx. 80lbs of LR.
The tank drains through two 1” bulkheads in the upper back of the tank which are plumbed using 1”ID reinforced tubing, to a double “Y” manifold which has two 1-1/4 compression (bathroom sink drain fittings). This double “Y” manifold is 1-1/2” PVC which combines the two lines from the main tank & then drains into the pre-filter tank. I added a Durso style cap to help break any siphon effects. The lighting for now is only 4 x 65-watt PC’s, Two actinics on for 10 hours & two 10.000k on for 8 hours.

Refugium 32 gal. 24” x 18” x 18” also has a 1” bulkhead in the upper corner that gravity drains into the main tank. The fuge is fed from both the pre-filter tank & the sump. A Mag-5 supplies about 300gph, And a line & ball valve from the main return from the sump supplies just a trickle (mainly for a back up) . One 200-watt Visi-Therm heater. The fuge lighting is just two normal 20-watt florescent one 50/50 & a GE grow light, lights are on 16 hours opposite the main tank.

Pre-filter tank 32 gal. 24” x 18” x 18” with a custom surface overflow. This overflow is plumbed through the back of the tank to a 1-1/2” bulkhead that drains to the sump by a 1-1/2” PVC line. There’s a second 1-1/2” bulkhead that is just being used as a ½” drain line for the pre-filter tank.

The sump is also a 32 gal. 24” x 18” x 18” has two 1” bulkheads one near the bottom that is used to drain the sump while doing a water change. The other one near the top is an upper limit drain should the sump overflow. A Mag-9.5 supplies the return about 700gals back to the main tank & back up to the fuge. A 200-watt heater, DIY 42” skimmer ran by a Tetra DW 96-2 air pump with two 3” wooden air stones, a Hagen 402 (270gph) supplies the circulation for the skimmer.

The last tank in my system is a 20gal RO/DI storage & top-off tank that has a 1” drain to the sump & a ½” drain that’s just used to clean it out. This 1” PVC line also has a ¼” fitting just before a ½” ball valve that supplies top-off water to a float valve mounted in the sump.
