I know , the only dumb question is one that gets asked twice.
just wondering if a TDS meter has any use in tank water,,,,
just a thought bubble i had this am , while doing water tests,,,
i know why TDS is important for RO/DI vs. tap ,,,just wondering if reading tank water holds any use
won't do it if one of you smart people tell me otherwise,,

Junkzoo:

I am not one of the "smart people" :funny: but because a TDS meter simply measures the total dissolved solids its useful for testing RO/DI water v. tap water but will not be useful for "testing" your salt water. All it'll show is that there are dissolved solids in your salt water (hopefully :) ) but won't tell you anything else. Also I'd be worried about salt creep screwing up the performance of your TDS meter if you start using it to test your salt water.

My $0.02 FWIW.
