Do dolphin tankmaser/pond master pumps have a good reputation?

Hi blindhog, welcome to TRT!

Depends on what you want them for. They move a lot of water but don't work well for pressure. There are some issues with the seals on the shaft and Tom Jr. has tried to make it good with everyone.

I was thinking of useing one for a closed loop in a 190 gal I'm building. I have a two inch pipe to feed the pump and two one inch returns near the bottom with multiple outlets. Would this pump work well in that circumstance?

That sounds like the same configuration I had with a AmpMaster for a while. I had it feeding two 1" returns.
The seals gave me trouble, I'm old, I swapped to a Iwaki 100.

I have read good things about Iwaki but is there another pump that will do to job for less mula?

Oh Lord, Tom's going to kill me for saying this, but here goes.

What it cost me to ship all those seals and wet ends over the course of three years, I could have bought a 1/2 doz Iwaki's.
