just make sure that it is madebof an inert netal for the part that goes into the water, and that you have a good ground ( or grounded 3-way plug) for it to groung to... i found out that none of my outlets were grounded by attempting to ground the tank, if you don't know what I'm talking about, talk to a good electrician BEFORE starting. IT COULD SAVE A LIFE, maybe yours...

while you're at it, look at GFIC breahers and grounded plug outlets.

AFCI breakers with GFCI receptacles -- I consider both a must on my tank circuits. GFCI protects me, AFCI protects against low current arcing that wouldn't trip off a normal breaker (think pump/motor windings).

AFCI are required by NEC now on any new circuit installations in a "dwelling" area -- it's not retroactive but you may want to consider one on the tank branch.
