i have a ten year old API liquid master reef test kit. i have a new one as well but there are some tests in the old kit that the new kit didn't come with. so.. do liquid test kits expire?

yeah huh ...

try one of the old tests and one of the new tests .. see if you get the same results ...

I have old dry ones ... they still work fine and get the same results as the new ... but dont take it for granted ... test it first .. then if it works .. use the old ones for your "non-critical" tests ... you know ... like a mid week "Just wondering" if in doubt .. throw it out ... we have too much money invested to worry about a few bucks for a test.

They do have a shelf life, and it's unfortunate that they dont come with a "born-on" date. If it's been over a year in your possession (no telling how long it sat on a shelf before then), I'd consider replacing it.
