I Am Debatin on letting the Aqua controller take over the light cycle, it has shorter day times this time of year, and longer day times in june july etc.... except, it is still way longer than i run right now, so.... what does everyone run for a day cycle???

I run mine for a total of 12 hours a day which includes about an hour of actinics in the AM and PM. That's MH's on for 10 hours and 12 hours of darkness a day.

i run 12 cept during times of the algae year. its a chinese holiday lol

The length of the days near the equator, where most of our critters come from, doesn't change like they do in the northern and southern hemispheres. The length of a day on the equator is just over 12 hours.

Agreed, since most reef critters are from between 30 degrees north and south
and most concentrated between the tropics of cancer and capricorn this area will vary day lengths from 10-16 hours over the course of a year, averaging the roughly 12 hours per day that is seen at the equator
