when you say using Dr Tim’s, you are using only the bottle bacteria and not adding the ammonia chloride , if you are going to use the ammonia chloride you don’t want to add fish until the cycle is complete and 0 ammonia is present.
The diatoms will probably still be present either during or after the cycle.
