Thanks again to everyone that helped me with the set-up questions on my tank. My "new" 95 gal tank has been set up since Mother's Day. I had originally posted asking for help in converting my fish-only tank into a reef tank, but judging from the tank decorations my husband opted for, we have a fish only set-up.

We currently have a seemingly well-established community. All of my tests(ph, nitrate, nitrite, & ammonia) have been consistently in the green and I haven't had any algea problems at all.

Currently I have a couple of camel shrimp, a cleaner shrimp, a crab, some damsels, and a cinnimon clown fish (the zebra damsel and clown fish were part of a rescue mission-- I thought they were both goners, but are now thriving!). I was wondering how much longer to watch my tank for signs of cycling. I am hoping to add some tangs to my community, but, as I understand it, they are very delicate fish. I don't want to introduce a fish before my community has matured enough, but how long is long enough??

Not only does their meaness seem to be linked to their size, but their color doesn't seem to stay as virbrant as it is when they are younger. The only reason I have them now is my because my husband was too anxious to get fish in the tank. I wouldn't feel too bad if I lost one to cycling, but they are fun to watch play tag in the corals. . .

you need to wait as long as you possibly can, then wait another 2 weeks after that.:D

the longer you wait the better. another 2 weeks would prolly be safe to add another fish, but watch those damsels. they tend to not like new friends. if you could trade them in it would be better.

trade the damsels in for credit, wait a week for the tank to adjust (since you had to take out all of the LR in order to get the little buggers). then get 1 fish with the credit from the damsels. i would wait for a tang until you get some algae growing in the tank. this will allow the tang something to graze on in between nori snacks.

my .02,

G~
