hello everyone, can i use crushed marble as a substitute for sand? i been told that since it contains calcium it would be a very good substitute. the packaging claims to be 99% free of silica. should i use this??? if so how deep of a bed do i want? the size on it appears to be slightly larger than sugar varieties. i will include pics later of the packaging. thanks-

My gut is telling me no for some reason.... I can't remember what it is that makes it bad for aquarium use though...

Due to the type of rock, where it comes from and how it's mined, I would be woried about the mineral/metal content of marble. But since I'm not a geologist I can't tell you if it's good or bad.
