This.......

From this in the beginning.

A Friend of mine from here blessed me with a handful of these frags, perhaps, uhhhhh, ummmmmm.....4-5 years ago. And they seem to like our place! ("THANKS Christian!馃嵑")

They are recognized by their waving bright green 8 arms with a white/light colored center. They grow from an encrusting mate which will grow over any surface in it's path. QUICKLY!

I've seen sites offering these for sale list them as anywhere from 'PEACEFUL to AGGRESSIVE'. From my experience they are PEACEFUL......in as much as they don't kill Corals they encounter, BUT spread quickly, and opportunistically EVERYWHERE....surrounding Corals in their path......but leaving those Corals to continue to grow.

They are a very common beginner recommended Coral offered for sale on almost every site......see them listed from $10.00 to over $60.00("WHY?") Pssssst....the $10.00 3/4" to 1" frags work just fine!:agree:

LIGHTING.....
I've kept these under old t8 and t12 lighting when I first got them, and they grew and spread......I now use (16) 4' t5 bulbs and they appear to grow and spread JUST AS FAST. So I will argue with the sites that say they need fairly strong lighting.....They don't particularly seem to care. * I will add the fact/thought though that our reef is also lite by NATURAL SUN LIGHT.

FLOW.......
Once again I have had these from very little to EXTREME flow, and they flourished under both conditions. Most sites I have seen list them as needing good flow, and have seen one site say THAT is because the base/the mate is prone to algae growth and this keeps it clean. Hmmmm, OK, I'll buy that fact. :agree:

'THEY' also say that these Corals are a 'good indicator of water quality'....I'd like to say THAT is true as it would make me look good, but sadly I can't concur with THAT. Once again I have run the gambit with these things from an embarrassingly filthy high nutrient tank with luscious GHA growth and 40+ NO3 levels to an almost ULTRA clean system. Have survived and flourished through the GHA and a bought with Dinos. Never seen them skip a beat!

YES I consider them a great beginner coral......very undemanding and forgiving......BUT be cautious! When 1st starting out EVERYONE is in a hurry to make their tanks look full and beautiful......especially when you have an empty 210 gallon tank. Be careful what you wish for, and take into consideration where and how you want your 'reef' to go and look in the future......THESE WILL GO THERE WITH YOU!

We have some folks on here who have gone as far as to 'train them' to grow up their glass in the backs and sides of their tanks......AND THEY WILL....EASILY!

Feel free to add your experiences here....PLEASE to help others.

Afternoon Doug! Nah.......as of the beginning of the week Cricket hadn't heard any answers from up above. Once my plate is emptied a touch this weekend, I may just go ahead and scrounge up the pictures and re-post all over again. Not impossible, just a lot of work......X3 threads!

Bummer Hack, i feel your pain. After a reboot of Win 10 a lot of my critical apps needed either reloaded or all the security stuff needed reset( all the $ involved stuff with 2 part verification, of course i had to reset the tablet and sign in to critical apps on new phone.
