seamonkey, it's starting to look like mine did.

mine slowly did the same thing. it went from being fully open to being turned inside out. the tentacles slowly got smaller and more greenish in color, until the final pic.

fwiw: the pic on the left was taken on friday, the day i bought it. the pic on the right was taken only 3 days later on monday!

If you can, I would suggest putting him in a holding tank. Whether it be something that hang on your tank inside (like at pet stores) or a plastic cup with a net over the top. Something to keep him isolated. Then I would offer him some food to see if he takes it. By keeping him isolated, he will be easy to get out should he die, and to help thwart off any food scavengers that might be stealing any food he is trying to get to. Keep us posted.

BTW, make sure that whatever you put him in, he does get water flow. :)

I dont think thats a condy with the red base. Looks more like a lta to me but I could be wrong. I have never seen a condy with a orange foot. Ya might wanna place it in a crack or a hole near the base of your LR with the foot in, see if It will eat.

That is an LTA, though it would help to see the oral disc, it does not attach directly to rock. You need MH and you need to feed it, chunks of fish, silversides worked for me.

Your sandbed looks like a crush coral bed, LTA's prefer/need muddy-sandy bottoms to bury their foot, it is highly unlikely it will eat anything until it is settled.

The color looks decent, the darker the better, so it might hold on for a little while, but who knows how long, you might consider returning it before it dies.

i think SM's looks the same color as mine, with the tan/green tent's. and the orange foot. MIne was labeled at an LTA whe ni bought mine, not as a condy. so i think you all are correct.
