I have two Ocellaris Clownfish, Captive-Bred. They have been in the tank for a little over a month now. I am wondering if I am able to add two Wyoming White Clownfish - Captive-Bred? Please give me some advice?
My tank is 60 gallon. I know that they are the same species, but I wasn't sure if because the Wyoming White was a different color would make a difference.
No color will not make any difference, they will still kill each other off unless you have a much larger tank or get really lucky. Color, species it really doesn't make much difference, in most cases. There are always exceptions, can't bank on them though.
Some people get lucky and don't have a blood bath, not to say that it won't happen later as they have a life span around 20 years, unless I remember incorrectly.
In my opinion it is not worth the risk with fish that cost that much, $79 each on liveaquaria.
I have a Wyoming White Ocellaris with a ‘normal’ Ocellaris in my 65 gallon and they do fine together. But they are the only clowns in there. I wouldn't add more clowns, single or paired, because there’s already an established pair.
+1 to the previous advice. One pair of clowns per tank unless it’s very large (or, sometimes if they’re from the same batch and added at the same time it can work out).
