I have a couple of Crocea clams that I placed in my rock work, and now I want to move them. How do I make them let go without hurting them?

Slide a razor blade between the clam and the rock, cutting the byssle filament. Make sure not to pull too hard, or they can injured enough to have infection set in.

That's the only way to remove a clam from a rock? I don't want to injure these clams.
Is there some way to make a clam uncomfortable, so they would relax their hold on the rock? Water flow or lighting?

I'm not sure of any natural methods, but the razor blade really isn't as hard as it sounds.

The byssal threads are dead tissue (like our fingernails or hair) so it doesn't hurt the clam at all.
