I caught a jack and searching the internet makes me worried about ciguatera. Anyone ever eat finfish?

I would not worry about it here. Its more common in the caribbean and tropical warmer waters where there are large reefs and large amounts of the poisonous animal that is the cause of the sickness. I have eaten many fish from our waters here and in Tampa and know countless others who have as well and never had a problem. If there was a problem here or anywhere in Fl we would hear about it on the news very quickly.
Don't eat large cudas or large cubera snapper and you should be fine. The worms in the jack on the other hand are a bigger problem IMO.

What do you know about eating fish ?? You beach BUM !! LOL
Inorite, but they keep them like crazy on the party boats. I hear that they are delicious if you can get past the stench.
I love it! I have never heard of that word before until now. I had to goto www.internetslang.com to figure out what it means.

Anyways, I am sure cuda can taste good depending on how you cook it. But I rather eat wahoo and mahi.
