Well we have started our reef tank. I took photos to show my tank as we begin this journey, I can't wait to see how it progresses over time.

A few questions, 2 of the coral pieces came attached to plugs. We placed them in the tank plugs and all. Can you take them off or is it better to place them in the tank attached.

Two other pieces we struggled to find a level spot to place them in, is anyone using epoxy (glue) to attach them to the rock?

Thanks for the help, I am new to reef aquariums and this website.

Thanks for the comments. I am so excited to begin this journey. We started off with the purchase of 4 soft corals:

Zoanthus Button Polyp
Sinclaria Tree Coral
Dunkins Whisker
Green Star Polyps

We also brought home two small fish to replace the Picasso trigger we brought to our local shop:

Algae Blenny
Fairy Wrasse

We were happy to see the new corals open fairly quickly after being introduced to the tank, the only hold out being the Green Star Polyps. I think we stared at the tank all night, lol! The Algae Blenny was a great addition, very entertaining to watch him.

So now we wait and let everything settle in for a couple of weeks. Lots of reading, purchased the book "Aquarium Corals" by Eric Borneman, and research before selecting the next piece to add to the collection.
