I have feather Calerpa in my refugium. I took some out and stuck it on the algae clip for my tangs. Only about half was eaten after a day or so, so I decided to remove what was left. The chunk I took off the clip and threw in the trash smelled rotten! (Like a bad egg) Is it supposed to smell like that?

I didn't notice a smell when I took it from the 'fuge to the main tank, but I'll check it again this weekend.

Probably did rot, I would think. It is just like any kind of vegatiation. I use nori for my clip.

For real? After about 24 hours after harvesting? It wasn't out of the water or anything. But yeah, I'll probably stick with Nori on the clip as the tangs didn't seem to like the calerpa much.

I'll check my 'fuge to see if there is anything else in there that might be causing the smell.
