Does my brain coral frag need to be in full light or can it be slightly shaded? 2x 250 watt mh with 2 96w atinic bulbs. Just started the coral game and want to make sure he is happy!

They like lower light. I place mine on the bottom of the tank. I would start them out in a little shade until they get used to the light in your tank, a week or so, then slowly move them out into the light. See how they do. They can take moderate light, but don't seem to do well in bright.
On a side note, I'm not sure many people think of acans as brain corals. They usually call them acans.
