I'm going to be adding another tank (35gal tall) behind my bar. I'm looking to plum everything all together with the main tank. I'm going with a little giant pump but not sure which one to go with. The new tank will be caddy cornered and I'm looking to run about 12 to 15 LF of PVC and only 4 LF from the main tank all connecting to the little giant. I was looking at the 4-MDQX-SC or do you think ill get away with using the 3-MDQX-SC? I left a chart on the bottom so you can see the spec's on the pump.

2nd Question:

When I fill up the 35gal tall and it's time to let the tanks all run together will I have any problems or is it going to be like a 35 gal water change for the main tank?

Do you have a sump with the main tank??
Need to know this before answering anything sle but i would offer that always go with the bigger pump...it gives you options...it can eliminate the need for smaller pumps to run other accessories such as chillers and canister filters(for carbon or other media) and except in rare circumnstances will you ever say "i wish i got the smaller pump". I also would offer that for having 2 displays, it is worth the effort to make them different systems. Things go wrong in this hobby and having 2 of your displays crash at the same time not only is more discouraging, but you then dont have a healthy system to move any life you may be able to save into while you figure out and or fix the problem. I cant count how many times in the last year i have been lucky to have another healthy system to move some stuff into for a bit, even if its just for re-aquascaping or making space for new stuff.
