Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
When I switched to DSL and MSN back in March, I called to cancel my AOL account. I was disgusted with myself for letting the AOL rep fast talk me into trying a 3 month free trial of AOL for Broadband when all I really wanted was to get all their crud deleted off of my computer as it causes annoying conflicts.
The free trial period was about up so last night I was going to email them to cancel the trial and to tell them to not activate my account again. Just being thorough, I checked my account and guess what?! Yup, they've been charging me $9.95 a month! I saw RED got online with an "account specialist" and was told "Oh no, our records show you ordered it as Bring Your Own Access." Aaarggghhh. "Did not"..." Did too". Told me I'd have to take it up via phone. So I call; I'm on hold 20 minutes and finally gave up and will have to try again this AM.
It's only $30...but it's MY $30 and it makes me wonder how many other people they've pulled this on. They are going to give me back the money or I am contacting the Oregon Attorney General's fraud division.
Beware of mega companies bearing gifts...especially when they have auto access to your bank account!
