I am trying to install a diy counter current skimmer on my 50 gal system and am wondering if the return from my fuge to the sump can be used to feed it.

any possible downside to this?

Well the point of a fuge is to provide refuge for critters that breed and produce plankton. Feeding food directly into skimmer seems silly
