picked up a great frag from Steve Skaggs (Thanks) and it immediately took to the tank for over two weeks. Fully extended by about 3". Now its all kinda shriveled (sp?) and only extended about 1/4". Everything else looks great and growing like mad.

Did a 10% H2O change (which I don't like to do) and still everyone else is still happy but the Frogspawn. Xenia looks good so I don't know if Iodine is the issue. SG 1.023, DKH 11, pH 8.15 (late day), Ca 500.

Any suggestions? Thanks

Why don't you like to do a 10% water change? You should be doing that weekly....

Do you run carbon? Are there any neighbouring corals that could be stinging? Euphyllia sp. are usually the aggressors, but it's possible that something is doing chemical warfare with it. Water changing, good skimming and fresh carbon should help with that, but if there is an aggressive neighbour too close, try moving one or the other.

What kind of light did the coral come from? Is it comparable to yours? Could be the coral is adjusting....

Hey Charles, remember that bleached frogspawn frag you gave me last year? It's AWESOME now....

Yea thats the same frogspawn I'm talking about. I saved myself a 2 polyp frag of that colony. It's doing awesome also. Has recently split into three polyps and is starting a baby polyp on the side.

Also that 2 polyp candy cane coral I got from you around the same time. I has now split into 9 polyps :D And to think that one sat at your store and nobody wanted it. Definatly their loss --- one of the nicest looking candy cane corals I've ever seen.

Mine seems to be very happy with medium lighting, at mid tank, with medium flow. Kind af average I guess but doing very well. The only time it closes a bit is when my lunare wrasse does a fly by.
