Forgive my ignornace casey but what are they perched on and why? Just being curious!:)

They are beautiful clams! Been looking at some lately to pick up my 2nd one since the first is doing well!;)

looks like a perch of pvc pipe... now the question is why? are they lined up for graduation?

Yeah Jay that is what my first thought was!:) Maybe to keep bristle worms away or sand from entering in to them! Like I said forgive my ignorance!:D

easy to remove for bucket feeding would be my guess.

Btw........awsome looking tank....I hope my tank turns out 1/100th as good as yours.

Quick unrelated question what kind of sand it that in the picture. It looks great!

Thanks guys for all the compliments,I had them perched so i could get a good pic of them together and it also helps when feeding them,I will probably have to take them down though cause they fall real easy with the current flow of water and my tang swimming by real fast doing mach 5 :)

Ok what exactly do you feed them with (and why)? I know that is a new thing, but I have never paid enough attention to the techniques and advantages of feeding clams (I have never fed my 2).

I just feed phytoplankton that I grow myself,not sure if it helps but they eat it in the wild so why not.:)
