I switched from 250W 65K iwasakis to 400W 20K XM a few months ago and I just wanted to note that SPS color has varied greatly! Under the 65K any of my SPS that had blue or pink really stuck out. It was the most beautifull bright blue. Purples werent as bright, but had good color. Greens looked good. Now that I have 20K the blue is very washed out. Not nearly as attractive, but the purple is more prominate. A lot of the bright blue corals have turned more green and the green corals have been turning yellow. Growth is better woith the 400W, but my water is cleaner and I have more flow.
Just an observation, something I've been watching fpor a while now.

It's one of those things is it the PAR or the color of the bulbs.... It seems that most of the literature points to PAR. 6.5K do look a bit yellow ( although when they first came out, they looked quite white relative to the 55ks!). But I'm using 10k, which most people call yellow?!? I don't remember what Borneman said about them....
