I recently accquired some 100% silicone, and upon closer inspection, the tube says it shouldn't be used on aquariums. As long as it's 100%, it should be tank safe, right?

Unfortunately no. For some reason they put 100% silicone on there and had mold inhibitors. How that equates to 100% silicone is one of life's many riddles. You're looking for GE silicone I for windows and doors. However, that too will have "not for aquariums" on the tube as well, it's one of those cover your backside things. If you're really worried about it most hd around here carry aquarium silicone it's just kept in strange places. It's more expensive than GE I but cheaper than buying it from a lfs.
