Hello all, I am VERY new to this hobby so please forgive me if I don't make sense at times. I am posting here because I would like some advice on what it takes to build and maintain a saltwater aquarium. Just last weekend an opportunity came to me that seemed too good to pass up. My brother's...

Hello, I'll be moving in about a month and a half, and I wanted to take this opportunity to upgrade to a tank that has been sitting empty in my current place. The tank is 72in X 24in X 24in (Bow front). the stand is 88in x 25in x 41in. So, I would say a little under 180 US gal. I will be...

Now, I do realize this will be a boring thread. But if you start to dose off, just grab a hammer and give your noggin a good thump to keep yourself awake. I know most people do what I used to do, they measure the salt they are mixing by the scoop-full, cup, or whatever amount they find...

Do you think this stand will hold the weight of my 75 gallon tank? It is built out of 4 x 4's with 6 by 1/2" lag bolts into the vertical studs. There is not shake, sway, rattle, etc. It's solid. I know it will but I've started to second guess myself for some reason. I'm just nervous I guess.

Back in the day we used to use foam(the pink kind) under the tank to even weight distribution. Is this still the prefered method? I am about to get my 125 full of water and wanted to know if this is something I should do before getting it up and going.
