Just wondering if anyone has seen these or knows anything about them...seems like an interesting design (they do say they can replace T12's - which are the standard VHO, right?)...
  4. The THINK Tank
just wondered why "bent" or parabolic reflectors are used instead of just half circle or radius reflectors... seems like the amount of bends is supposed to make a reflector better(referring more to t5 than mh) so with that logic a radius would be equal to an infinate amount of individual bends...

You know - I am still debating on the 28G Nanocube or a bigger tank. I know I wil lget bored of the Nanocube eventually since it can only house maybe 2-3 small fish and a few corals. I confirmed the electrical issue will cost allot to do and its probably out of the question. With a TV, DVD...

Alright, so I got the tank today! Its about 190 gallons. Its going to take a while to finish, since we have a wedding in September, and will probably be moving back to Fresno to buy a house. So this isnt going to be quick, but hopefully will be worth while. The tank is 60" long, 36" deep...

Well...I guess I am taking the plunge again :) and I figured since I am going to start all over I may as well start a build thread. I will have pictures and stuff as I accumulate items. I am not really building anything though (other than the rockscape and modifying a tank for a sump), so I...

Hi all, I have a quick question. I am re-doing my 125 as a FOWLR and I am wondering what the limitations are on my lighting. I have an IceCap 660 ballast which right now has 4 X 48" bulbs that are staggard over the 6' tank (basically 2 bulbs start at one end of the tank and end 2' shy of the...

This thread lists the equipment I have so far: http://www.thereeftank.com/forums/showthread.php?t=111400 When I got the tank, I decided to go ahead and test everything I had to make sure it worked properly. The only part of it that I couldn't truly test was the skimmer. But, with plain water...

I am building a new canopy and getting close to the finish line. I have always used VHO bulbs and mounting them was a no brainer. When you mount a reflector like the Reef Optix 2(13" long), do you mount the reflector x amount of inches from the side or do you go by the bulb instead and have...
