Good afternoon everyone. I have a new tank set up. Dec 30, 2017. All parameters checked weekly. Once established I added 1 turbo snail and 2 blue legged crabs. All was good. Had abloom of an orangy/ brown algae. Vacuumed, 30%. Parameters still good. Added 1 more turbo snail 2 weeks ago...
Alright I have a question about my bubble tip anemone. We call him "Ruby" and he glows a beautiful florescent orange and green in the moonlight and I am very happy we made the decision to adopt.
Adopted 1/16 temp and drip acclimated over 3 hours. Introduced mid...
I have a beautiful white mouth eel, named Jetsam. I know he doesn't play nice with anything, but I thought maybe a turbo snail would be ok. I've already tried adding 3 turbo snails over the course of the past 5 months (not at the same time), but they keep dying.
I don't think Jetsam is killing...
I have a turbo snail that is half out of its shell. It has moved slightly so I know it is still alive. Does anyone have any information about this? I have a picture but it won't let me attach it because I don't have enough posts or something.
Hello everyone woke up this morning around 6:30am and my turbo snail who is usually on the sidewall of the tank was on his back almost like he fell off the wall. So, I move him to a live rock. He retracts to his shell. Get home from work 10 minutes ago his shell is empty!!! He left his...
Noticed this while checking out my turbo, it seems to come from a small black dot and looks like a flower almost growing out of the shell. I don't know how well the pictures do it justice but it looks like its filter feeding in the water column.
I noticed a turbo snail hasn't moved in two days, so I pulled him out, the body fell out of the shell, so I had to reach in and grab the body. My God Man, that is the Nastiest Smell I've ever smelled. My whole house Stinks! Nasty, Nasty, Nasty! The shell stinks to high heaven, and my hand had...
Hello. I had 2 turbo snails and apparently they produced a lot of babies. Now I have hundreds of little turbo snails in my tank. They are about 1/8 inch in size.
In the same time I see some creatures died on me: arrowhead crab, one red sea star (and second one is dying too, I think). I do not...
As the title suggests - anyone have a clue? Looks like something spherical inside...also something that resembles a pair of antennae at the bottom? Looks like a purple slug hanging upside-down but seems furry!
Thanks in advance.
So I woke up the yesterday morning to find my cleaner shrimp "cleaning" the remains of my Turbo snail:bawling:.
At first I just figured that the turbo died and Pierre (shrimp) was just doing his job of cleaning but now I am beginning to wonder if he murdered the snail cause he thought it was...
So recently my turbos aren't acting normal. a few days ago I had one completely detach itself from its shell (and lay its shell with the opening facing up, kind of making it look like a snake charmer's snake coming out of a basket). That guy got eaten the first night he was out of its...
I just introduced 3 turbo snails into my tank as part of a CUC. They are attached to each other. One is trying to scoot around but is draging the other two with him. Should I take them apart or just let them be? It's only been about 2 hours. THANKS!
:fish: :fish: :fish:
I absolutely love my turbo snail. It clean my tank really nicely, but unfortunately leave a nastily little gift afterwards. He poops ALL THE TIME making my tank looking messing and full of poop. WHat can I do to get rid of all this poop?
I currently have a turbo snail and it is great! It eats the algae very fast and makes the glass and rocks looking nice and clean. The only problem that I have with it is that it poops all the time! It clean the algae, but leaves a bigger mess afterwords!!! What can I do to clean up his poop?
Do turbo snails eat fish? I bought a little blue devil damsel yesterday and saw him swimming all day today..left the house for a little bit and now he is nowhere to be seen? I figured it was just hiding but i looked in the places it usually hides and I can't find it..didnt move any of the rocks...
hi all, i walked past my tank this afternoon and noticed one of my turbo snails looking a little strange, he has sort of a disk protruding from his body? thats the best as i can describe it, what is it? and is it normal?
I've had my 29g up and running for about 2 1/2 weeks now with 40lbs live sand, 12lbs dry rock, 9lbs live rock, and my water params are:
After I started getting 0 readings, I gave it a couple more days and then added (conservatively) 2 turbo...
I set up a nano-tank on approximately July 21 of this year. It's been going well and my LR came with a ton of mini feather dusters.
A couple of weeks into things I saw a little bit of green algae and thought, "Hey, I'll add a snail to keep that under control."
Everything I read said...
