I bought this live rock in excitement when I saw these guys on it bc I thought they were some type of feather duster or worm to help cleanup my tank and get it jump started but I have yet to see any movement from them so I am wondering if they are alive and/or a friend or foe. My tank cycled in...

Hi everyone! I'm new to the hobby, setting up a small 29 gallon a year ago. I'm still learning but have something going on that has me stumped - the entire bottom of my tank is covered with hundreds/thousands of what I think are spaghetti worms encased in particles of sand. I can only see the...

I was speaking to a fellow reef keeper who has been in the hobby for many years. He told me to be prepared for "tubeworms" which have a tendency to burrow under the seals in the tank causing leaks. Anyone know if this is true and if so, is there a counter measure that can be taken against...

I have had a feather duster in my tank for about 4-5 months and it had looked good and seemed healthy. Lately I noticed that the crown was out all of the time and wasn't retracting when snails or shrimp messed with it like before. I touched it and it did not retract. Is it dead? Nothing is...

I have a TON of tube worms, about 1mm in diameter and maybe 10 - 15 mm in lenght, ALL over my tank, denser in low flow areas, but present everywhere. they have teeny tiny feather duster-ish protrusions out the end that retract. i tried to get a decent pic but have not been able to get anything...

It appears that I have some kind of invasion of tube worms. Not sure if that's good or bad. They are small and I have counted at least 25 that I can see. Any idea about these things? I don't know anything about them. Please help!

Well, I have been gone awhile, actually haven't had much going on with the tank, just pretty much left it alone. But I have had some things going on with it every once in awhile. So I decided to get your take on it. I have little white circles all over my rock, and glass and my equipment and I...

My once thriving twin tube worm looks terrible. It used to be 2 fluffy dusters and now it is one and not so fluffy. How long do they live? I guess that info wouldn't help because I don't know how old it was when I got it. It is still busy making the tube longer ... any ideas? Pics are 1)...

Ok I just got some live rock from a fellow reefer. It has tube worms on it. many many little tiny ones. I thought about just getting a stiff wire brush to them. Is this the most humane way to do it.

I've had these two majano looking things on my rock for the last 4 months. They have not spread anywhere but I think they are stinging my zoos. Are they majanos? They are really pretty and i hate to get rid of them but you have to do what you have to do.

I am posting this not to say Salifert FWE is a bad product but to warn anyone else that may be considering it's use to be extremely cautious :read: I HAD a very beautiful 200 gal softie and LPS tank last friday.
