I've had my Tomini Tang for around six months already and have noticed him doing some crazy movements once in a while so wanted some feedback. The Tomini looks fine all day and all of a sudden he just starts to swim back and for from one side of the tank to the other extremely fast sometimes...
I am wanting to add one last fish to my tank and I saved the Tang for last. My tank is only 75 gal and so I thought the Tomini tang would be best.
If anyone has this fish, could you please tell me about this fish's temperament, feeding etc?
My tank consists of:
2 oc. clowns
1 dwarf angle
So, this is just pondering and wishful thinking..
But I am about to move everything from my 55 over to my 180 gallon within the next month or so, just really taking my sweet time.

I have a 150 gallon reef, water parameters are perfect. Mixed variety of SPS, LPS and only a few fish. Current fish are a six line wrasse, tomini tang, royal gramma, and three clownfish. I was curious if putting a yellow eye kole tang in with the tomini would be an issue? Also...

Recently lost entire tank due to filteration problems. So looking for some new ideas for a colorful, peaceful tank. Any ideas on what to put back in it? All I have now is a yellow watch man, one polyp, one mushroom.
Well, its been a few years, several designs and even a location change. BUT, the 150 is finally about to see some water:bigeek:.
I'm starting a new thread so that all the picture nuts don't have to sift through 20 some odd pages of jabbering by myself and a few others!
So here is what I have...
I need some help here on deciding what Tang to get for my new 75g reef. I have read alot of stuff from the "Tang Police" on how Hippos and Powder Brown, and Yellow Tangs all need "at least 150 gallon" tanks. I have such are hard time believing this.
How is it that we see so many Yellow and...
Ok, I've heard several times that raising Magnesium levels to 1500-1600 will kill off hair algae. I've never seen any scientific information on whether or not this is true, and if so why. Does anyone know if it really works, and why?
Well, Ive just re-done the plumping and equipment room for my 150 and I'm running through my checklist of things left to do.
I will be running Mh and I have a small chiller. Its the PC 1/10th hp and worked great on a volume of about 200 gallons. With the new design and set up I will be running a...

My clown died today. I did a fresh water dip in efforts to save him. When I was adjusting temps I noticed the tank water felt warm...2 floating thermometers confirmed the tank is at 82. My digital failed me! It reads 78.2 so I thought I was good. That wouldn't kill a fish, would it?
I've got a 90 gallon bare bottom tank, mostly sps. Currently I have a false perc and a royal gramma. I had a regal blue tang but he died a few months ago. Anyone have suggestions for reef safe fish? I was thinking of a yellow tang, another clown, blue chromis, cardinal fish. Ideas?
