Hello! I have a question about my corals. I have a 10 gallon reef tank. Almost 7 months old. It was downgraded from a 55 gallon when I moved back home with my parents briefly....they didn't want a large tank. I did not have a second cycle and did it all pretty seamlessly about 3 months ago. It...

Hello everyone! I got this marvelous looking mushroom last week but I still can't tell what kind it is. It's the enormous green one at the back, next to the green hairy mushroom. My first thought is an elephant's ear perhaps but I'm not sure. As far as I can tell it's one big polyp. It didn't...

Not sure if this is the right place to put this, but I was wondering if anyone could tell me what this little guy is. He was attached to a frag I got and the guy let him tag along for free. Someone said it looked like a baby torch buuuuuut I'm really not sure. Hes super cute though and happy...

Good afternoon to all of my fellow reef enthusiasts! I recently inherited a stocked and well established Bio-Cube 29. I've been able to identify most of what's in it, but I'm having trouble identifying one item. It's a rusty/maroon color, with a soft, flat, fleshy "lobe-like" body. Anyone have...

What is this coral? Reminds me of a carnation but the tops are spikes (and they hurt if you accidentally touch one!). Any idea what it is?

Saved a colony (sinularia dura) from the rock we received. Also got some red mushrooms, which are doing great. This colony started off in a low flow area. It didn't respond well to the light so low light, as well. Changes today: I moved it in front of the trickle filter return. It opened up...

I was given some type of tree coral and it kinda looks like a Kenya Tree but they all look alike. Looking for a somewhat positive i.d. I also have what i think is a leather coral but there again i'm not sure and it so happens i cant get a good picture of it. Any idea on what or how to feed them?
  14. "Soft" corals
do finger leathers need current strong enough to blow the polyps or just strong enough to blow the branches
  15. "Soft" corals
So I was wondering if there is a time period you have to wait before you can add corals to your tank such as you do with fish. If there is a time span, what is it? thank you.
  16. "Soft" corals
I wanted to know how often you should be feeding ur corals, I do have coral feed (it's a mix of stuff) that I got from my lfs but I forgot to ask and it doesn't say how often I should be feeding them. In my nano reef I've got 2 cats, a polyp and a sponge, so how often should I be feeding them...

I'm looking for the recommended ranges of flow rate for a softy tank. I did a search and this post seemed to have the only specific info I could find... www.thereeftank.com/forums/f217/circulation-help-192851.html Its states softies are tank turn over of around 15x per hour. Is that accurate?
