I have a Gen-X CO2 regulator by pacific coast imports. It has a solenoid and a needle from MRC http://www.myreefcreations.com/caaccessories.htm at the bottom of the page. Currently the regulator is putting out an output pressure of 25. That is just a touch higher than I want. There isn't any big...
It is finally time that I get my calcium reactor set up. Only thing is, I have never owned or operated a calcium reactor before, so I need help. Can anyone take some time and help walk me through how to set it up and get it properly set?
also, I have a milwaukee pH controller...
I have been trying for a while to raise my ph. It is constantly at 7.8. I've tried adding buffer. Seems to help short term. added an air pump to help
balance co2 and oxygen. Removed half of my glass lid and replace with egg crate. nothing seems to help. here are some tank specs.
I'm having issues with my pH--no matter what I do it won't raise. At one point it was around 7.8-7.9 in the morning and slowly rose over the couse of the day to about 8.2 max.
Now, it's about 7.6 in the a.m., and rarely goes above 8.0 at night.
We're using the buffer and nothing is...
so the corals don't seem as happy as they could be so I figured time to test...
sg 1.025 with refractometer

using IO salt
so what if anything do I need to do?
OK.... when I started my tank back in 03 I had a colt coral in there for over a year as well as a ton of polyps. All flurished! then all of a sudden everything started to die. water parameters are fine. I thought it was my tank inhabitants picking at them.... I was wrong. I then thought...
About 2 months ago I bought a pinpoint ph kit. It uses the 10/7 solutions for calibration.
It worked great for the first month or so then just started giving me really low readings! I have calibrated it twice with new solutions but I get the same results. I'm using two different standard...
I bought a pinpoint PH moniter used and am trying to calibrate it. I cannot seem to get the numbers to 7 or 10 while calibrating the unit. I have the probe in the solution and am cranking the appropriate screw to adjust the display and no matter how far I turn the screw it will not reach...

I have been cycling my tank. I put the cured LR in on 2-11th and I put the lights up on 2-16th.
Before I added it the water test showed:
pH 7.9 Amonia 0 Nitrite 0 Nitrates 10
The day after Amonia .25 Nitrite .25 pH 7.9 Nitrate 40
On the 21st I did a W/C after more water test
I have a Milwaukee pH Monitor SMS120, it was working good until 1-13-06,

I used a regular test kit and it is 8.3
I need to buy THE calibration Solution ( M10010B ).
Do anyone know a LFS that sells that ??
All, i'm fairly new and fairly ignorant about this business; have a 75 gal sw tank w/ ~ 60 lbs of live sand and ~ 80lbs live rock. currently fish only though would love to add corals. tank has been in place for ~ 8 months. have prizm skimmer and two cannister filters that are basically just...

I've been having trouble maintaining a pH of 8 or higher in my 75 gal reef tank.
(listed under tank specs)
I can't maintain the pH above 8 without sending the kH over 14-15 dkH.
I've tried reducing food.
My calcium is always above 350 and I try to keep it above 400. It gets sucked up pretty...
